A Journey Rooted in Christ
Journey Into Freedom is a Christian ministry. Its teaching is grounded in the belief that identity, grace, responsibility, purpose, and lasting freedom are found in Christ.
Participants do not need to have all the answers before beginning. They should understand that faith and biblical teaching are central to the program.

Programs are open to incarcerated men and women in participating facilities, subject to facility approval and program availability. Chaplains and correctional staff can help identify eligible participants.

Although JIF was founded by and is run by Christians, the program is open to participants of all faiths and beliefs.
Participants can continue with chapel, discipleship, mentoring, and community connection — the goal is ongoing relationship, not a single completed course.
Where partnerships and volunteers are available, JIF connects participants with mentors, churches, and community resources during transition.
